Reset the Arcadyan G3100

This article covers how to reset the Arcadyan G3100 router back to factory default settings. A router reset is very different than a router reboot. Every time your router loses power it reboots. However, when you reset a router you, return it back to its factory default settings.

Warning: Before you continue, there are a few things you need to know. The following settings will be changed in your router:

  • The router's username and password are reset.
  • Your WiFi name and password are reset.
  • Your ISP username and password will be reset, and you may have to contact your ISP.
  • Any parental controls, firewall settings, or port forwards will be removed.

A router reset should be considered the last resort when you cannot log in to your router any other way. Make sure that you have tried to recover your router password using our Router Password Finder first.

Reset the Arcadyan G3100

Most routers have a small button on either the back or the bottom. What you are looking for is something that looks like this:

Your reset button may look different, but usually they are very small. You might find a pinhole on the back of the router that requires a paper clip to push the button hidden under it.

Watch the lights on the front of your router and hold the reset button down for about 10 seconds. After a few seconds the lights should blink differently. When this happens, the reset is complete. Keep holding the button as long as you want, it will not hurt anything to hold it down too long.

Don't forget, this step will totally reset your Arcadyan G3100 router back to factory settings.

Login to the Arcadyan G3100

Once the reset is complete, you need to login to your router using the default IP address, username, and password. Our G3100 Login Guide has all of the information that you need.

Change Your Password

You need to change your router's default password after you log in for the first time. Leaving a router password set to default is a very serious security risk. You can follow our Choosing a Strong Password guide to help you pick a solid password for your router.

Tip: Write your new password down on a post-it note and stick it to the bottom of your router.
