On this page I will show you how to reset the AudioCodes MP-264 router back to it's original factory settings. This is usually done because the router setup passwords have been changed and forgotten.

Before we start there are two terms (reset and reboot) that are commonly confused. When you reboot a router you are cycling the power to the device. This does solve some minor behavioral problems the router may be having. A router reset on the other hand takes all the settings in your router, clears them all and returns every one of them back to factory settings.

Warning: Resetting a router can cause all sorts of problems if you don't understand what a reset does. Before continuing please consider the following:

  • The Internet name and password are erased and returned to factory settings.
  • The router's main username and password are cleared as well.
  • If you use a DSL router you need to re-enter the ISP username and password. Call your Internet Service Provider for more information.
  • If you have made any other changes to the router you need to write these down so you can re-configure them after the reset is complete.
