Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Port forwarding the Aztech DSL7000GRV-S to your computer can be more reliable if you first configure a static IP address on your computer. We have instructions to setup a static IP address for Windows 7, Windows 8, and a variety of other devices on our Static IP Address Settings page.

Please note that while setting up a static IP address on your computer is optional, it is still a very good idea to go ahead and do it. In the long run it will make your port forward much more reliable.

Login To The Aztech DSL7000GRV-S

To get started forwarding a port you need to login to your Aztech DSL7000GRV-S router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Forward a Port on the Aztech DSL7000GRV-S router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Aztech DSL7000GRV-S

You begin on the System Info page of the Aztech DSL7000GRV-S router. To forward a port, click the choice of Firewall Configuration at the top of the page. A new menu appears below that, tick Port Forwarding.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Aztech DSL7000GRV-S

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

You should now be on the Port Forwarding page.

  • Under the heading of Server Name, place a dot in the Custom Server radio button.
  • Then, in the box to the right of that, enter the name of the program you are forwarding these ports for. This is for your records, and doesn't really matter what you enter here.
  • In the Server IP Address box, enter the LAN IP Address of the device you are forwarding these ports to. For example if you are forwarding these ports to run a program on your computer, use that computer's IP Address.
  • If you are forwarding only one port, enter that port number into:
    1. External Port Start
    2. External Port End
    3. Internal Port Start
    4. Internal Port End
  • If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter the lowest number of the range in the External Port Start box, and the Internal Port Start box, and the highest number of the range in the External Port End box, and the Internal Port End box.
  • Use the Protocol drop down menu to choose the type of protocol you want to use when forwarding these ports.
  • Click Save/Apply

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Aztech DSL7000GRV-S you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
