On this page I will show you how to reset the Beetel 450BX1 router back to factory settings. This is not the same thing as rebooting a router. A reboot is simply cycling the power to the device. This is done to solve some minor behavioral problems the router may be having. A reset is taking all the settings and returning them all to factory settings. This completely erases all personal settings you have made to your router.

Warning: Resetting this router can cause problems for you if you are unaware of what settings are changed. We highly recommend making a list of the settings you know of that are changed. Consider the following:

  • The router username and password are returned to factory settings.
  • The Internet name and password are returned to original factory settings.
  • If you use a DSL router you will need to re-enter the ISP username and password. To get this information you need to call your local Internet Service Provider.
  • Any other information you have changed such as a port forward or IP address change are erased. Make sure to write these down so you can reconfigure them after the reset is complete.

Reset the Beetel 450BX1

Once you have decided you really want to reset the Beetel 450BX1 router you need to know where the reset button is located. According to my research it is located on the underside of the router in the upper right corner.

Take a pin or unwound paperclip to press and hold the reset button down for a minimum of 10 seconds. This begins the reset process. If you don't hold this button down for long enough you end up simply rebooting the router instead of resetting it like you wanted.

Don't forget that this reset is erasing every change you have ever made to this router. To avoid having to reconfigure this router you should try other troubleshooting options first.

Login to the Beetel 450BX1

Now that you have finished the reset you need to login to the device using the proper default username and password. We have this information for you and it is included in our Login Guide for the Beetel 450BX1 router.

Change Your Password

It's now a good idea to change the default password to something new. It is not a good idea to leave these values as they are. Defaults are too easy to guess. If you need help coming up with a new password check out our guide titled Choosing a Strong Password.

Tip: To avoid losing this password you could write it down on a sticky note and attach it to the bottom of the router for future reference.

Setup WiFi on the Beetel 450BX1

This final setting has to do with the WiFi. It's a good idea to check on the wireless setting to be sure your network is still secure. This includes changing your Internet password, the SSID, and the security method if needed. We recommend using WPA2 for your network.
