Forward a Port on the Belkin F5D8231-4 router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Belkin F5D8231-4

After you log into the Belkin F5D8231-4v4 you are taken to the Status page of your Belkin Router. Click the choice on the left side bar labeled Virtual Servers, which is directly under Firewall.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Belkin F5D8231-4

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

  1. Place a check mark in the Enable box.
  2. In the Description box, enter the name of the program, or something that will remind you why you are forwarding these programs.
  3. If you are forwarding a single port, enter that number in both of the Inbound Port boxes and both of the Private Port boxes. If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter the lowest number in the left box of both the Inbound port and Private port. Enter the highest number in both the right boxes of the Inbound port and Private port.
  4. In the drop down menu called Type choose the type of protocol you want to use to forward your ports.
  5. In the box labeled Private IP address, enter the IP address you are forwarding these ports to, such as if you are forwarding these ports to run a program on your computer, then use that computer's IP address here.

Now that you are done, click the Add button and the Apply Changes button.

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Belkin F5D8231-4 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
