Setup WiFi on the Belkin F7D6301

Login To The Belkin F7D6301

Once you've logged into this router you should be taken to the Home page of the Belkin F7D6301v1 router. To change your wireless network settings click Channel and SSID pon the left hand side of the page.

Start off by opening the drop down menu marked Wireless Channel and setting it to either 1, 6, or 11. Why are these the best options? Read our WiFi Channels Guide to find out.

After that you'll need to set an SSID. This will be your network name and can be whatever you like. However, due to security reasons we highly recommend that you avoid any personal information. To learn more take a look at our Wireless Names Guide.

That's it for this page. Click Apply Changes before closing the page. Then click Security located in the left hand sidebar.

You should now see the page presented above.

First make sure that the Security Mode is set to WPA/WPA2-Personal (PSK). This will provide you with the strongest security. For more information check out our WEP vs. WPA Guide.

Now be sure that the Authentication is set to WPA2-PSK. Redundant, I know.

Finally you'll need to set a Pre-shared Key (PSK). This is your network password and can be anything you want. Keep in mind that a strong password consists of 14-20 characters and contains no personal information. For more help be sure to take a look at our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

That's it! You're finished. Just be sure to click Apply Changes before closing the page.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
