On this page I will show you how to reset the Billion BiPAC-5112S router back to the original factory defaults.

Before we begin there are two terms that are oftentimes confused. The first term is reboot. To reboot your router means to cycle the power or turn it off, wait a minute, then turn it back on. This will solve some minor problems you are having with your device. The other term is reset. To reset a router is to take every single setting and return them to factory defaults.

Warning: Resetting a router is a serious step. Don't do this unless you have exhausted other troubleshooting methods. Things you need to consider are as follows:

  • The router's interface username and password are returned to factory defaults.
  • The Internet password and network name are reverted to factory defaults as well.
  • If you use a DSL router you need to re-enter the ISP username and passwor in order to continue using the Internet. For more details you'll need to call your Internet Service Provider.
  • Have you changed anything else on this router? Port forwards? IP addresses? These are all erased and need to be reconfigured.
