On this page we cover how to reset the Billion BiPAC-7401VGP-R3 router. But before we begin let's go over two terms that are easily confused. The first is reboot. To reboot is to cycle the power to the device by either pushing a button or unplugging the power to the device, waiting a bit, then reconnecting the power. The other term is what this page is about, a router reset. A reset takes all your settings and returns every one of them back to factory defaults. You would want to do this if you can't login to the router's user interface.

Warning: Resetting this router is a serious step. Make sure you know all the consequences of doing this before you continue. Things you may want to consider are:

  • The router's user interface username and password are returned to factory settings.
  • The Internet name, security method, and password are returned to factory defaults.
  • If you use a DSL router you need to re-enter the ISP username and password in order to continue using the Internet. Call your Internet Service Provider for more information on this.
  • Have you made any other changes to this router in the past? Have you forwarded any ports for a program or game? Have you changed your router' IP address? All of this and more are erased. Make sure to reconfigure these after the router has been reset.
