This page shows you how to reset the Billion BiPAC 7800NXL router back to factory defaults. Before we begin there is a lot of confusion between resetting a router and rebooting a router. A reboot is another way of saying "cycle the power to the device" or "turn it off and back on again". A router reset is a process that returns all the settings back to their original factory defaults.

Warning: Resetting a router is a serious step and shouldn't be taken lightly. We recommend making a list of all the settings that will be changed after this reset. Consider the following:

  • If you use DSL you will need to re-enter the ISP username and password to continue to use the Internet. To learn more about this you need to call your Internet Service Provider.
  • The router's main username and password are returned to factory defaults.
  • The Internet SSID, password, and security measures have all been put back to factory defaults.
  • Any and all settings are erased. This means any port forwards or IP address changes are erased and need reconfiguration after the reset is finished.
