On this page I show you how to reset the Billion BiPAC 7800VDOX router back to it's original factory default settings. This is not the same thing as a reboot. A reboot is cycling the power to the device. A reset is taking every setting you have ever changed and reverting it back to factory default settings.

Warning: Resetting this router can cause more problems for you if you don't understand what settings are changed. I recommend making a list of the settings you know will be changed. Consider the following as you make this list.

  • The router's main username and password are restored to the original factory defaults.
  • The Internet name and password are also reverted to factory defaults.
  • If you use a DSL Internet connection you need to re-enter the the ISP username and password. Call your Internet Service Provider for details.
  • Have you made any other changes to this router? If so write these down so you can reconfigure the settings after the reset is complete.

Use a VPN

Have you considered using a VPN when you connect to the internet? A VPN is a great way to increase your security and anonymity while surfing.

We use and recommend NordVPN because not only is it the fastest VPN, it includes a new feature called Meshnet that makes securely sharing your home network super simple. With NordVPN Meshnet, you can connect to your devices from anywhere in the world, completely secure, over a highly encrypted VPN tunnel.

When shopping for a VPN, make sure that they meet the following criteria:

  • Your VPN provider should have a no-logs policy. This means that they do not keep any logs of any kind.
  • Make sure that your VPN provider has lots of exit nodes all around the world.
  • Check that your VPN will not affect your speed.
  • Verify that your VPN provider uses WireGuard as the underlying protocol.
  • Many people prefer a VPN provider that is not based in the United States.

This is the list of requirements that we used when we were shopping around for a VPN provider. There are lots of free, shady VPN providers out there that we looked at and dismissed.

Based in Panama, using diskless servers, and with over 6,100 servers in 61 countries, we can safely say that NordVPN satisfies all of these requirements.

NordVPN birthday deal!

Once you've set up your NordVPN account on multiple computers and enabled Meshnet, you can seamlessly access all of your devices as if they were on the same network. You don't even have to log in to your router. It's very simple.

Every time you click on one of our affiliate links, such as NordVPN, we get a little kickback for introducing you to the service. Think of us as your VPN wingman.

The first step is to locate the reset button on this device. As you can see from the image below it is located on the back panel. I circled the reset button in red.

This is the reset page from your Billion BiPAC 7800VDOX router.

Due to the small size of the reset button you should use an unfolded paperclip and press down on the reset button for approximately 10 seconds. This starts the reset process. If you don't hold this button down for the entire amount of time you end up only rebooting the router instead of resetting it like you wanted initially.

Remember that this reset WILL erase every single setting you have made to your router. If you want to avoid this inevitable loss you should try other troubleshooting methods first.

Change Your Password

It's always a good idea to change your default passwords. These passwords are very easy to guess making them terrible passwords. Change this as soon as you can. If you need help making a new password we have a page labeled Choosing a Strong Password to help you.

Tip: It's important that you don't lose this password. One way to keep it close is to write it down on a piece of paper and attach it to the bottom of the device itself.
