Setup WiFi on the Binatone WR1500N

The Binatone WR1500N router is considered a wireless router because it offers WiFi connectivity. WiFi, or simply wireless, allows you to connect various devices to your router, such as wireless printers, smart televisions, and WiFi enabled smartphones.

WiFi Terms

Before we get started there is a little bit of background info that you should be familiar with.

Wireless Name

Your wireless network needs to have a name to uniquely identify it from other wireless networks. If you are not sure what this means we have a guide explaining what a wireless name is that you can read for more information.

Login To The Binatone WR1500N

To get started configuring the Binatone WR1500N WiFi settings you need to login to your router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Find the WiFi Settings on the Binatone WR1500N

We begin this guide on the Home page of the Binatone WR1500N router. To change your Wi-Fi settings click Wireless on the left hand side of the page. Then click Wireless Settings just beneath that.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Binatone WR1500N

Start off by setting an SSID. This will be your network identification. However, due to security reasons we highly recommend avoiding any sort of personal information. To learn more check out our Wireless Names Guide.

Next you need to set the Channel. Open the drop down menu and set it to either 1, 6, or 11. To learn why these are the best options take a look at our WiFi Channels Guide.

Click Save at the bottom of the page.

Now click Wireless Security in the left hand sidebar.

On this new page, begin by opening the drop down menu labeled Current SSID and select the SSID you just created.

Now select the radio button marked WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK. Then set the Version to WPA2-PSK. This will provide you with the best security. Why? Read our WEP vs. WPA Guide to find out.

The Encryption to AES.

Finally you'll need to set a PSK Password. A strong password consists of 14-20 characters and includes no personal information. For more help see our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
