On this page we show you the basics of resetting the Bountiful-WiFi BWRG1000 router. Please note that this is not the same thing as rebooting the router. Rebooting a router is a way of cycling the power to the device. This may solve some minor problems you are having with the device. A reset on the other hand takes every setting and returns them to factory defaults.

Warning: Resetting the router is a serious step in troubleshooting your problem. Before you decide on resetting the router make a list of settings that are going to be affected by this reset. We have started the list for you:

  • The router's IP address, username, and password.
  • The Internet password and name.
  • If you use a DSL router you need to re-enter the ISP username and password. For more information on this you will need to call your Internet Service Provider.
  • If you have made any other changes to this router you need to reconfigure them after the reset. This includes everything from port forwards to IP address changes.

Due to the small size of the reset button you need to take the tip of a pencil or pen to press and hold down the reset button for about 10 seconds. Less time than that and you may only reboot the router instead of the desired reset.

Please remember this will erase every setting you have ever changed on your router. We highly recommend that you try other methods of fixing the problem before resorting to a reset.
