This page explains how to reset the BSkyB SR101 router to it's original factory defaults. This is not the same thing as rebooting the router. A reboot is cycling the power by unplugging the router, waiting about 30 seconds, then turning it back on. A reset is taking every setting and reverting them to factory defaults.

Tip: Resetting this router is a serious step. Be sure you know what settings are changed. We recommend making a list of the settings you know will be changed by this reset. We have started that list for you:

  • The router's main username and password.
  • If you use DSL you need to re-enter the ISP username and password. For more info. on that you'll need to call your Internet Service Provider.
  • The Internet SSID and password.
  • Have you made any other changes to this router in the past? Have you forwarded any ports? Have you changed your router's IP address? All changes you have made will be erased. You will need to reconfigure them after the reset process is complete.

Press and hold this reset button for about 10 seconds. This is the time it takes for the power light to blink on and off four times then remains on. If you don't hold the reset button down for a full four blinks of the power light you will only reboot the router instead of resetting.

Remember this reset is going to erase every setting you have ever changed on your router. It's a good idea to try other ways of solving your problem before you reset this router.
