On this page we will be showing you how to reset the BSkyB SR102 router back to factory defaults. This is not the same thing as a router reboot. Rebooting the router cycles the power to the device. This is done by turning the router off for about 30 seconds, then turning it back on. A router reset is different, it takes all the settings and returns every one of them back to factory defaults.

Warning: Resetting the BSkyB SR102 router is a serious step in fixing the problem you are having. We suggest creating a list of settings you know will change due to this reset. We started the list for you:

  • If you use DSL you need to re-enter the ISP username and password in order to continue Internet usage. Call your Internet Service Provider for more details.
  • The router's main username and password are returned to factory defaults.
  • The Internet name and password are also returned to factory default settings.
  • If you have changed anything else on your router it will be reverted to factory settings. This includes anything from an IP address change to a forwarded port.

Reset the BSkyB SR102

The first step in a factory reset is to know where the factory reset button is located. We have already found this information for you and have circled it in the image below.

Press and hold down the reset button for about 10 seconds. The power light on the router needs to flash a total of four times and this takes approximately 10 seconds. If the power light flashes less than four times you are only going to reboot the router instead of resetting it like your wanted.

Remember that this reset is erasing all settings you have ever changed. The entire router is returned to factory defaults. It is recommended that you try other methods of fixing the problem before resorting to a reset.

Login to the BSkyB SR102

Once you have finished resetting the router you need to login to the router interface using the proper factory default values. The default IP address, username, and password can all be found in our BSkyB SR102 Login Guide.

Change Your Password

Right after you have finished logging into the BSkyB SR102 router you need to change the default password. It's never a good idea to leave a password as it's default setting. We have made a guide titled Choosing a Strong Password to help you out. It is full of ideas and tips on creating a strong password.

Tip: It's important that you don't lose this password. If this router is located in your home you can write this password down on a piece of paper and attach it to the bottom of the router for safe-keeping.

Setup WiFi on the BSkyB SR102

The last setting we are discussing on this page will be the WiFi settings. These include the network name, password, and security method. For the strongest security we strongly recommend choosing WPA2 along with a strong password. We have created a guide with step-by-step instructions for setting up a secure network. Check it out here at How to Setup WiFi on the BSkyB SR102.
