Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Port forwarding the Buffalo WZR2-G300N to your computer can be more reliable if you first configure a static IP address on your computer. We have instructions to setup a static IP address for Windows 7, Windows 8, and a variety of other devices on our Static IP Address Settings page.

Forward a Port on the Buffalo WZR2-G300N router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Buffalo WZR2-G300N

Starting on the Wizards & Overview page of the Buffalo WZR2-G300N router, click the choice at the top of the page in light blue labeled Gaming Ports, then below that, pick Port Forwarding.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Buffalo WZR2-G300N

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

You are now on the correct page to forward a port.

First, use the Service drop down menu to choose the option of Custom Service.

Then, enter the name of the program you are forwarding these ports for in the box labeled Service Name.

Next is the Service Type. Use this drop down menu to pick the type of service or protocol you want to use while forwarding these ports.

If you are forwarding one port, enter that number in both the Start Port box, and the End Port box. If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter the lowest number of the range in the Start Port box, and the highest number of the range in the End Port box.

In the Server IP Address space, enter the LAN IP address of the computer or device you are forwarding these ports to.

When you have finished, click the Add button.

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Buffalo WZR2-G300N you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
