With this guide we will show you how to reset the Cisco DPQ3925 router back to factory defaults. It's important that you understand the difference between a reset and reboot before we continue. A router reboot is a power cycle for the router. A router reset takes all the settings you have personalized and returns them to factory settings.

Warning: Resetting a router is a serious step and should not be taken lightly. Make sure you understand the implications of this. Please consider the following before you continue.

  • The router username and password are reverted to factory defaults.
  • The Internet security and password are put back to factory defaults.
  • If you have a DSL router you have to re-enter the ISP username and password. To find out what these are you need to call your Internet Service Provider.
  • All other settings you have changed will be erased. Make a list of these before continuing.
