On this page I will show you how to reset the Clear WIXFBR-117 router back to factory defaults. This is not the same thing as rebooting a router. When you reboot a router you cycle the power to the device. When you reset a router you take all the settings and return every single one of them back to original factory defaults.
Warning: Resetting this router can cause even more problems for you if you don't know the consequences. Please consider the following:
- The router's main username and password are reverted to the original factory defaults.
- The Internet network name and password have been erased and returned to factory settings.
- If you use a DSL router you need to re-enter the ISP username and password. Call your Internet Service Provider for more information.
- If you have ever made any other changes to your router you need to writ3e these down and reconfigure them after the reset process is complete.

Reset the Clear WIXFBR-117
Once you have decided to reset the Clear WIXFBR-117 router you need to find the physical reset button on the router itself. On this model it is located on the back panel. Take a look at the image below.
As you can see this button is quite small. Take the tip of a sharp pencil or pen and press down on the reset button for about 10 seconds. This initiates the reset process. If you don't hold this button down for the entire amount of time you end up only rebooting the router instead of resetting it like you wanted.
Please remember that this will erase every setting you have ever changed on this device. To avoid having to reconfigure the entire router you may want to try other troubleshooting methods.
Login to the Clear WIXFBR-117
Once the reset process is complete (this could take a minute or two) you need to login to the Clear WIXFBR-117 using the proper default username and password. We have this information for you in our Login Guide for the Clear WIXFBR-117 router.
Change Your Password

Tip: It's important that you don't lose this password. Try writing this information down on a sticky note and attaching it to the bottom of the router for future reference.
