In this guide I will show you how to reset the CTC-Union ATU-R130 router back to it's original factory defaults. This is not the same thing as a reboot however. A reboot is a way of cycling the power to the device to solve minor behavioral problems you might be having with your router. A reset on the other hand takes all your previously configured settings and erases them sending them back to how they were from the factory.

Warning: This reset can cause additional problems for you if you don't fully understand what settings are changed. We recommend making a list of the settings you have changed in the past. Consider the following:

  • The router's setup username and password are erased and put back to how they were from the factory.
  • If this is a DSL router you need to re-setup the ISP or Internet Service Provider's username and password. Call your ISP for this information.
  • If you have ever made any other changes these need to be re-configured as well.

Reset the CTC Union ATU-R130

Begin by locating the reset button. For this router you can find it on the back panel. Just take a look at the image below.

As you can tell this button is quite small and recessed. Using an unfolded paperclip you need to press and hold this reset button for about 10 seconds to begin the reset process. If you don't hold this button down for long enough you end up only rebooting the router instead of resetting it like you wanted in the the beginning.

Remember this reset erases every single setting you have ever changed on this device. We recommend trying other troubleshooting methods first.

Login to the CTC Union ATU-R130

You've reset the CTC-Union ATU-R130 router. Now you need to log into it. This is done using the default username and password. We have these for you in our Login Guide.

Tip: If the defaults aren't logging you in it may be because you didn't hold the reset button down for long enough.

Change Your Password

After logging in we strongly suggest changing the default password. Keep in mind that a strong password is 14-20 characters in length and contains no personal information. For more help take a look through our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.
