Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Port forwarding the Dlink AirPlus DI-624 to your computer can be more reliable if you first configure a static IP address on your computer. We have instructions to setup a static IP address for Windows 7, Windows 8, and a variety of other devices on our Static IP Address Settings page.

Please note that while setting up a static IP address on your computer is optional, it is still a very good idea to go ahead and do it. In the long run it will make your port forward much more reliable.

Login To The Dlink AirPlus DI-624

To get started forwarding a port you need to login to your Dlink AirPlus DI-624 router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Forward a Port on the Dlink AirPlus DI-624 router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Dlink AirPlus DI-624

This is the setup page from your Dlink AirPlus DI-624 router.

You start on Setup Wizard page of the Dlink DI-624. First, you need to click the blue tab at the top of the page labeled Advanced, then Virtual Server in the left sidebar.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Dlink AirPlus DI-624

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

This directs you to the Virtual Server page. This router only allows for single port forwards. If you need to forward more than one, you need to create new forward for each one.

First, click the Enabled radio button.

Second is the Name. This is for your reference only, we suggest entering the program name here.

In the Private IP space, enter the local IP address of the specific computer you are forwarding this port to. If you are unsure of your computer's internal IP address, clicking this link takes you to our guide on how to find it.

Now, select the protocol you are going to use from the Protocol Type drop-down menu.

Next is the Private Port, and the Public Port. Enter the port number you want to forward in these spaces. The numbers in these boxes should match.

Select the Always radio button from the Schedule choices.

That's all there is to it, simply click the green Apply button when you are finished.

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Dlink AirPlus DI-624 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
