Dlink DIR-655 Port Forwarding Instructions

Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Port forwarding the Dlink DIR-655 to your computer can be more reliable if you first configure a static IP address on your computer. We have instructions to setup a static IP address for Windows 7, Windows 8, and a variety of other devices on our Static IP Address Settings page.

Please note that while setting up a static IP address on your computer is optional, it is still a very good idea to go ahead and do it. In the long run it will make your port forward much more reliable.

Login To The Dlink DIR-655

To get started forwarding a port you need to login to your Dlink DIR-655 router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Forward a Port on the Dlink DIR-655 router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Dlink DIR-655

You begin on the Internet Connection page of the Dlink DIR-655 router. To forward a port, click the option at the top of the page labeled Advanced, then on the left, choose Port Forwarding.

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

You are now on the correct page to make a port forward. Find the an empty row of boxes and place a check mark in the small box on the left side of the page. Placing this check mark enables the forward you are about to forward.

Next to that, in the Name box, enter the name of the program you are forwarding these ports for.

Under that is the IP Address box. Enter the LAN IP address of the computer you are forwarding these ports to. What is my IP Address is our guide on how to find your computer's LAN IP address.

Now enter the port numbers you are forwarding in the TCP box, and again in the UDP box. You can enter them several ways, either by list, 44,48,69, by range, 100-500, or a combination of both, 22,24,80-100.

Set the Schedule to Always, and set the Inbound Filter to Allow All.

Once you are happy with your work, go ahead and click the button at the top of the page labeled Save Settings.

That's it, you are finished!

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Dlink DIR-655 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
