Before we get started there is a little bit of background info that you should be familiar with.

Encryption

Login To The Dlink DVA-G3810BN-TL
To get started configuring the Dlink DVA-G3810BN-TL WiFi settings you need to login to your router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Find the WiFi Settings on the Dlink DVA-G3810BN-TL
If you followed our login guide above then you should see this screen.
Beginning on the Overview page of the Dlink DVA-G3810BN-TL router click the tab at the top of the page labeled Local Network. Then, click Wireless underneath that.
Now look over to the right of the page, click the link titled Overview.
Change the WiFi Settings on the Dlink DVA-G3810BN-TL
This takes you to a page like the one you see here.
- First, check the box that reads Enabled to the right of Wireless Network.
- Next is the Wireless Network. This is the name you give your network so that you can identify it later on. Go ahead and be creative but don't use personal information. To learn more about this, read our guide titled Wireless Names.
- Use the drop down menu titled Security to choose the proper security option for your network. We recommend the choice of Password Protected (WPA). A better choice would be to update your firmware to allow for WPA2. To learn more about this security option read our guide titled WEP vs. WPA.
- Now enter the Pre-Shared Key. This is the password you use to gain access to your network. We recommend using at least 14-20 characters. Use a mix of numbers, symbols, and letters. To learn more about this topic, read our guide titled Choosing a Strong Password.
- When you are finished, click the option at the bottom of the page labeled OK.
Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings
After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
