Setup WiFi on the Dlink DWL-810+

The Dlink DWL-810+ router is considered a wireless router because it offers WiFi connectivity. WiFi, or simply wireless, allows you to connect various devices to your router, such as wireless printers, smart televisions, and WiFi enabled smartphones.

Before we get started there is a little bit of background info that you should be familiar with.

Login To The Dlink DWL-810+

This guide begins on the Home page of the Dlink DWL-810+ router. Click the blue tab at the top of the page labeled Wireless.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Dlink DWL-810+

This takes you to a page like the one you see above.

First you'll need to set an SSID. This is the same thing as your network name and can be whatever you want. However, due to security reasons we highly recommend avoiding the use of any personal information. For more help be sure to visit our Wireless Names Guide.

It looks like this router only has WEP security. This is extremely outdated and unreliable security. We strongly recommend updating your firmware.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
