On this page I will show you how to properly reset the Dlink GO-RT-N150 router. The reset I will be showing you is not a reboot. When you reboot something you cycle the power to the unit. When you reset a device you end up taking all your personal changes you've made in the past and reverting them back to how they were when they left the factory.

Warning: Resetting this router is a big step and should not be taken lightly. We recommend making a list of all the settings you may of changed in the past. Consider the following before you continue:

  • The router's main username and password are erased.
  • The Internet name and password are also erased and replaced with the original factory defaults.
  • If this is a DSL router you need to re-enter the ISP (Internet Service Provider) username and password. Call your ISP for the details.
  • Have you made any other changes to your router? How about port forwards or IP address changes?

Reset the Dlink GO-RT-N150

The first step is to find the reset button. Take a look at the image below, I have circled the reset button in red.

router reset factory settings

Now, with the router on, take a straightened paperclip and press down on the reset button for about 10 seconds. If you don't hold this button down for the correct amount of time you could end up only rebooting the unit instead of resetting it like you wanted.

Don't forget that this will erase every single setting you have ever changed on your device. We recommend trying other methods first.

Login to the Dlink GO-RT-N150

Now that you've reset the Dlink GO-RT-N150 router you'll need to log into it. This is accomplished by using the factory default username and password provided for your use in our Login Guide.

Tip: Defaults not logging you in? Try holding the reset button for longer.

Change Your Password

After you've successfully reset and logged into your router we suggest setting a new password for it. Keep in mind that this password will only protect your router settings, not your wireless network. All the same, setting a strong password is always a good idea. For help in doing so be sure to check out our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

Tip: Avoid losing your new password by writing it on a slip of paper and taping it to the bottom of your router.
