On this page I will be showing you how to properly reset the DrayTek Vigor2132FVn router back to it's original factory defaults. A lot of people use the words reset and reboot to mean the same thing. In this guide when I use the word reboot I am only referring to a cycle in the power to the unit. When I use the word reset I am referring to a complete factory restore of all settings. This means any settings you have changed in the past is reverted back to the original factory values.
Warning: All previous settings you have made are erased. Be careful when you decide to reset, it's a big step. We recommend making a list of any settings you may of changed during the lifetime of this router. Some commonly changed settings will include:
- The router's main username and password.
- The Internet name and password.
- If this is a DSL router you need to re-enter the ISP or Internet Service Provider username and password. Call your local ISP for these details.
- Finally you may of made other changes such as port forwards or IP address changes. Don't forget to write these down as well.

Reset the Draytek Vigor 2132FVn
Take a look at the image below. This should be what the front panel of your DrayTek Vigor2132FVn router looks like. As you can see the Factory Reset button is in the lower left corner of the router.
Take an unwound paperclip and press down on the reset button for about 5 seconds until the ACT light begins to flash faster than before. If you don't hold this button down long enough you will probably end up only rebooting the router instead of resetting it like you wanted.
Remember this reset is erasing every setting you have ever changed on your router. We recommend trying other methods of troubleshooting first.
Login to the Draytek Vigor 2132FVn
Following that you'll need to log into your DrayTek Vigor2132FVn router. This is done by using the factory default username and password provided for your use in our Login Guide.
Tip: Defaults not working for you? It could be because the reset button wasn't held down for long enough.
Change Your Password
After logging into your router we suggest setting a new password for it. This can be whatever you like, however keep in mind that a strong password is 14-20 characters in length and contains no personal information. For more help check out our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.
Tip: Avoid losing your new password by writing it on a sticky note and attaching it to the underside of your router.
