WiFi Terms
Before we get started there is a little bit of background info that you should be familiar with.
Wireless Name
Your wireless network needs to have a name to uniquely identify it from other wireless networks. If you are not sure what this means we have a guide explaining what a wireless name is that you can read for more information.

An important part of securing your wireless network is choosing a strong password.
Wireless Channel
Picking a WiFi channel is not always a simple task. Be sure to read about WiFi channels before making the choice.
Encryption
You should almost definitely pick WPA2 for your networks encryption. If you are unsure, be sure to read our WEP vs WPA guide first.
Login To The Draytek Vigor 2132FVn
To get started configuring the Draytek Vigor 2132FVn WiFi settings you need to login to your router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Find the WiFi Settings on the Draytek Vigor 2132FVn
If you followed our login guide above then you should see this screen.
Once you have finished logging into the DrayTek Vigor2132FVn router you should see the Dashboard screen like the one above. To change your wireless settings for a more secure network click the link in the left sidebar labeled Wireless LAN. Then under that choose the option of General Setup.
Change the WiFi Settings on the Draytek Vigor 2132FVn
This takes you to a page that should look similar to the page you see above. Don't worry if it doesn't the settings should be very similar. First make sure your Enable Wireless LAN box has a checkmark in it.
Next, let's change the SSID. Next to the number 1 make sure the Enable box is highlighted. Then under the heading of SSID enter a new name for your network. This name can be just about anything you like as long as it's unique and you can identify it later. Learn all about SSIDs in our guide about wireless names.
If you need to change your Channel now is the time to do it. Find the Channel drop down list and pick from channels 1, 6, or 11. It's important that you stick to one of these three channels. Find out why in our WiFi Channels guide guide.
Click the OK button at the bottom of the page to save your changes. Now go back to the left sidebar and click the Security option under Wireless LAN.
On the security page you will first see the drop down list titled Mode. This is the type of security you want to use. We strongly recommend using WPA2/PSK. This is the most secure option available right now. Learn all about it in our guide titled WEP vs. WPA.
The only other setting you need to worry about on this page is the Pre-Shared Key (PSK). This is the Internet password. It is also used in the encryption method so it's important that you create a complex password here. Check out our guide titled Choosing a Strong Password for more information.
That's it, your network is now more secure. Don't forget to click the OK button at the bottom of the screen to save your changes before you exit.
Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings
After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
