On this page I will show you how to properly reset the E-Tech RTBR03 router back to factory settings. A reset like the one I am going to show you is not the same thing as a reboot. When you reboot this device you are only cycling the power to the device. When you reset the E-Tech RTBR03 router you are taking all the settings and returning them to how they were when they left the factory.

Warning: A reset like the one you are about to do is a big step and should not be taken lightly. We recommend making a list of all the settings you think you might of changed. The following should be in your list:

  • The router's access username and password.
  • Any port forwards you have done.
  • IP address changes you have made.

Unfortunately I don't have an image of the back panel of the router. The image below is a similar router with the reset button circled. Is your reset button/pinhole in the same spot?

While the router is on take a straightened paperclip and press down on the reset button for about 10 seconds. If you don't hold down the reset button for long enough you may end up only rebooting the router instead of resetting it like you wanted.

Tip: Please be aware that this WILL erase every single setting you have ever changed on this device. We highly recommend trying other methods of troubleshooting before you continue.

Login to the E-Tech RTBR03

Now that you've reset the E-Tech RTBR03 router you'll want to log into it. This is done by using the factory default username and password. Not sure where to find these? We have them provided for your use in our Login Guide.

Tip: If the defaults aren't logging you in it could be because the reset button wasn't held down for long enough.

Change Your Password

Once you've logged into your router we suggest setting a new password for it. This can be anything you want it to be, however keep in mind that a strong password contains no personal information and is 14-20 characters in length. For more help be sure to visit our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

Tip: To keep from losing your new password try writing it on a sticky note and attaching it to the underside of your router.
