This guide shows you how to reset your EnGenius EMR3000 router to factory default settings. A router reset is a much bigger deal than a router reboot. Unplugging a router from the wall reboots it. This is different from a reset because a reset completely erases all settings from the router.
Warning: Proceed with caution; resetting your router can be a major headache. The following settings in your router will be changed:
- The router's login credentials are reset.
- Your WiFi name and password are reset.
- Any ISP settings saved in your router will be removed. You may have to contact your ISP.
- All parental controls, firewall settings, and port forwards will be removed.
A router reset should be considered the last resort when you cannot log in to your router any other way. Before you reset your router you may want to try recovering your router password with our Router Password Finder.

Reset the EnGenius EMR3000
There is usually a small reset button located on either the back or the bottom of a router. This is what a typical reset button looks like:

Even though yours may look slightly different, you need to look for a tiny button. You may need a paper clip to push the reset button.
Watch the front panel lights while you hold the reset button down for at least 10 seconds. Notice how the lights on the front of the router are blinking. When the lights do something different, the router is reset. Do not be concerned about holding the reset button down too long. It will not hurt anything.
Don't forget, this step will totally reset your EnGenius EMR3000 router back to factory settings.
Only take this last step of fully resetting your router after you have exhausted all other troubleshooting options, such as running our Router Password Finder software, which can recover a lost router password for you.
Login to the EnGenius EMR3000
Once the reset is complete, you need to login to your router using the default IP address, username, and password. You can find all of the information that you need in our EMR3000 Login Guide.
Change Your Password
Do not forget to change your router's default password when you log back into it. The factory default passwords for routers are very well known. If you need help coming up with a strong password, check out our Choosing a Strong Password guide.
Tip: Write your new password down on a post-it note and stick it to the bottom of your router.
