Setup WiFi on the EnGenius ESR 9750G

Login To The EnGenius ESR 9750G

Find the WiFi Settings on the EnGenius ESR 9750G

Start on the page labeled Status page of the Engenius ESR-9750G router. To configure the WiFi settings click the link titled Wireless. Then at the top of the page tick the option of Basic.

You are then taken to a page similar to the one you see here.

  • First, use the box titled SSID1 to enter a new name that you can remember. It doesn't matter what you enter here but we recommend avoiding personal information. For more on this topic, read our Wireless Names Guide.
  • Now find the Channel. Be sure you are on channel 1,6, or 11. To learn why you should be using these three channels, read our WiFi Channels Guide.
  • Click the Apply button.
  • Tick the Security option at the top of the page.

This takes you to a new page like the one you see above.

  • Use the ESSID Selection to pick the SSID you just created on the previous page.
  • In the Encryption drop down box pick the best security option available for home networks. Our recommendation is WPA pre-shared key.
  • In the WPA type section, pick the option of WPA2(AES). To learn why this is the best option, read our WEP vs. WPA Guide.
  • Next is the Pre-shared Key type. Choose the option of Passphrase.
  • Finally, the last thing you need to change is the Pre-shared Key. This is the password you plan on using to access your network. We recommend using at least 14-20 characters in this password. Read more about creating a strong and memorable password by clicking this link.
  • Tick the Apply button.

That's it, you did it!

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
