On this page we show you how to reset the EnGenius ESR-9752 router back to factory defaults. A lot of people assume this is the same thing as a reboot. A reboot is a cycle in the power to the unit. This solves a lot of minor behavioral problems you might experience with the EnGenius ESR-9752 router. A reset on the other hand takes all the settings and reverts every one of them back to factory defaults. This means every setting you have ever changed is erased and reverted back to the original factory defaults.

Warning: A reset is a big step in trying to login to your router. Are you sure you want to continue? Things you need to consider before continuing are:

  • The router's main username and password are erased and returned to how they were from the factory.
  • The wireless information such as IP address, network name and password are erased and returned to factory defaults.
  • If this happens to be a DSL router you need to re-enter the ISP (Internet Service Provider) username and password. You need to call your ISP to find out what the username and password are.
  • Have you ever forwarded any ports or changed any IP addresses?

This begins the reset process which could take a minute or more to finish. If you simply press and release the reset button you will reboot the router instead of resetting it like you wanted.

Don't forget that this reset is going to erase every single setting you have ever changed. We suggest trying other methods of troubleshooting before you continue with this reset.

Login to the EnGenius ESR 9752

Once you've reset the EnGenius ESR-9752 router you should log into it. This is done by using the factory default username and password. Don't know where to find these? We have them listed for your use in our Login Guide.

Tip: If the defaults aren't logging you in it could be because the reset button wasn't held down for long enough.

Change Your Password

After you've logged into your router we recommend setting a new password for it. Keep in mind that this password will only protect your router settings, not your wireless network. All the same, setting a strong password is always a wise choice. For more help be sure to visit our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

Tip: Avoid losing your new password by writing it on note and taping it to the bottom of your router.
