How to Reset the FRITZ BOX WLAN 7340

On this page I will show you how to properly reset the FRITZ WLAN-7340 router back to it's original factory defaults. This is not the same thing as a reboot. When you reboot something you simply cycle the power to the unit. When you reset it you take all the settings and revert every one of them back to how it was when it left the factory.

Warning: A reset will erase every single setting you have ever changed in the lifetime of the FRITZ WLAN-7340. We suggest creating a list of the settings you may of changed in the past such as:

  • The router's main username and password.
  • The wireless information such as name and password.
  • If this is a DSL router you need to re-enter the ISP or Internet Service Provider username and password. Call your ISP for the details.
  • If you have ever made any other changes in the past go ahead and write these down as well.

Reset the FRITZ BOX WLAN 7340

To reset the factory defaults for the FRITZ WLAN-7340 you need to use a telephone receiver associated with the FRITZ WLAN-7340.

Pick up the handset and using the buttons on the telephone, key in #991*15901590*

Hang up the handset.

Remember this reset erases every setting you have ever changed in the history of the router. We strongly recommend trying the fix the problem you are having differently before deciding to reset.

Login to the FRITZ BOX WLAN 7340

Once you've successfully reset the FRITZ WLAN-7340 router you'll want to log into it. This is accomplished by using the factory default username and password. Not sure where you can find these? We have them listed for your use in our Login Guide.

Change Your Password

Now that you've logged into your router we suggest setting a new password for it. This can be whatever you want it to be, however keep in mind that a strong password is 14-20 characters in length and contains no personal information. Tip: Prevent yourself from losing your new password by writing it on a slip of paper and taping it to the bottom of your router.
