  • Use the Channel drop down menu to pick from channels 1,6, and 11. Check out our guide titled WiFi Channels to learn why you should only be using these three channels.
  • A little farther down this screen you see a box titled WLAN SSID. Use this box to enter in a new name for your network. It doesn't matter what you enter here but we suggest avoiding personal information. Learn more about this topic by clicking this link.
  • Now skip down to the Encryption Type. Choose the option of WPA Personal.
  • Narrow your choice down a little with the drop-down menu titled WPA Mode. We recommend WPA2. To learn why this is our recommendation, click this link.
  • Next is the Cipher Type. Choose the option of AES.
  • The last thing you need to do is change the Pre-shared Key. This is the password you use to gain access to your network. We recommend using a minimum of 14 characters and a mix of numbers, symbols, and letters. Read our Choosing a Strong Password Guide for more information.
  • Next click the Apply button.

That's it, congratulations.
