Once on this page, use the first box titled Name(SSID) to enter your own network name. Be creative here but avoid personal information. Learn more about SSID's by reading our guide titled How to Change your Wireless Name.

Below that is the 802.11 authentication. This is the security you plan on using for your wireless network. We strongly recommend the use of WPA2-PSK. Find out why this is the best choice you can make by reading our guide titled WEP vs. WPA.

Set the Encryption mode to AES.

Next is the WPA pre-shared key. This is the password for your network. We recommend creating a strong password of at least 14-20 characters. Try to use some symbols, numbers, and capital letters in your password also. For more information on this topic, read our guide titled Choosing a Strong Password.

The last thing on this page is the SSID Broadcast. Leave this Enabled if you want to keep it so your name is visible. If you want your SSID name invisible, click the option of Disable. If you disable this, remember that it does not make you completely invisible to a hacker.

Click the Apply button.

To change the channel, click the link labeled WLAN Advanced Settings on the left side of the page.
