This article covers how to reset the Huawei HG630 Open router back to factory default settings. This is a much bigger deal than a router reboot. Turning a router off and back on again causes a reboot. However, when you reset a router you, return it back to its factory default settings.
Warning: Before you continue, there are a few things you need to know. The following settings in your router will be changed:
- The router's login and password are reset to factory defaults.
- Your WiFi login, password, and network name are reset.
- Any ISP settings saved in your router will be removed. You may have to contact your ISP.
- Any parental controls, firewall settings, or port forwards will be removed.

Reset the Huawei HG630 Open
You can usually find a small reset button on either the back or the bottom of a router. This is what a typical reset button looks like:
Even though yours may look slightly different, you need to look for a tiny button. You may need a paper clip to push the reset button.
Keep an eye on the lights on the front of your router while holding the reset button down for about 10 seconds. The lights on the front of the router should do something different when the reset happens. Do not worry about holding the button down too long; this is harmless.
Remember, this will erase everything you have previously done to this Huawei HG630 Open router.
