Setup WiFi on the Intelbras WRS240E

The Intelbras WRS240E router is considered a wireless router because it offers WiFi connectivity. WiFi, or simply wireless, allows you to connect various devices to your router, such as wireless printers, smart televisions, and WiFi enabled smartphones.

WiFi Terms

Before we get started there is a little bit of background info that you should be familiar with.

Login To The Intelbras WRS240E

To get started configuring the Intelbras WRS240E WiFi settings you need to login to your router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Find the WiFi Settings on the Intelbras WRS240E

If you followed our login guide above then you should see this screen.

You should begin on the Status page of the Intelbras WRS240E router. To configure the wireless settings, click the link in the left sidebar labeled Basicas. Then below that click the option of Wireless and Estatisticas.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Intelbras WRS240E

On this new page find the SSID and enter a new name here. You can enter anything you want but we recommend avoiding personal information. Learn more about this by reading our guide titled How to Change your Wireless Name.

Use the Channel drop down menu to choose the correct channel. Make sure you are using channel 1,6, or 11. Learn more about this topic by reading our guide titled WiFi Channels.

Scroll down this page and find the Security Type. Use this drop down menu to choose the option of WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK.

Under that is the Security Option. Use this drop down menu to choose the option of WPA2-PSK. This is the best option available. If you don't have this option available we recommend updating your firmware to allow for it. For more information read our guide titled WEP vs. WPA.

Next is the Encryption. Choose the option of AES.

The last thing you need to do is change the PSK Passphrase. This is the password you use to access your network. Create a strong password of at least 14 to 20 characters. Read our guide titled Choosing a Strong Password for more tips on strong passwords.

That's all there is, just click the Save button.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
