Setup WiFi on the Inteno X5669A

Login To The Inteno X5669A

To get started configuring the Inteno X5669A WiFi settings you need to login to your router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Find the WiFi Settings on the Inteno X5669A

Beginning on the Device Info page of the Inteno X5669A select the option in the left sidebar labeled Wireless. Beneath that choose Basic.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Inteno X5669A

On this page you are going to change the SSID. This is the name that identifies your internet access. It isn't important what you enter here but it is a good idea to avoid personal information. To learn more, read our guide titled How to Change your Wireless Name.

At the bottom of the page, tap the button titled Save/Apply. Now look in the left sidebar and tick the option of Advanced.

Near the top of this page find the setting called Channel. Just make sure you are using channels 1,6, or 11. If you want to know why you should only be using one of these channels, read our guide titled WiFi Channels.

That's it for this page, click Save/Apply. Then in the left sidebar choose the option of Security.

This delivers you to the Wireless -- Security page. The top half of this page is about WPS or WSC. This is the WiFi Protected Setup. This is an easy way in for someone wanting on your network without your permission. We strongly recommend that you choose the option of Disabled for the setting of Enable WSC. For the Enable Build-In Registrar choose the option of Disabled also. Then use the drop down list next to Set WSC AP Mode to choose Unconfigured. Scroll down the page until you see the heading of Manual Setup AP. The first setting here is titled Select SSID. Simply choose the SSID you created on the previous page from the drop down list.

Below that is the Network Authentication. Here select the option of WPA2-PSK. Learn why this is the most secure option by reading our guide titled WEP vs. WPA.

A little farther down the page is a setting titled WPA Pre-Shared Key. This is the password you will use to gain access to your network. It is a good idea to create a strong password here of at least 14-20 characters. Learn more tips by reading our guide titled Choosing a Strong Password.

The last thing to change is the setting titled WPA Encryption. This is the method your router uses to encrypt your private data while it is traveling. The most secure encryption today is AES.

That's it. Simply click the Save/Apply button near the bottom of the page before you exit.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
