Have you tried to login to the Linksys E1700 router without success? It might be time to consider a reset. When you reset the Linksys E1700 router you are not rebooting it. When you reboot a router you cycle the power to the device. When you reset a router you take all the settings and return them to factory defaults.

Warning: This means every single setting you have changed will be erased. Take the time to make a list before continuing. This list should contain at any settings you made during the lifetime of the router. These should include the:

  • router's main username and password.
  • the Wi-Fi username and password.
  • If this is a DSL router you need to reenter the Internet Service Provider (ISP) username and password. Call your local provider for these details.
  • What other changes have you made to your router? Have you forwarded any ports or changed any IP addresses? Write these down as well.
