This article covers how to reset the Netcomm NB4 router back to factory default settings. This is not the same thing as rebooting a router. A reboot happens every time a router loses power. This is very different from a reset, which erases a router completely and returns it to factory default settings.
Warning: Before you continue, there are a few things you need to know. The following settings in your router will be changed:
- The router's login credentials are reset to factory defaults.
- Your WiFi name and password are reset.
- Any ISP settings saved in your router will be removed. You may have to contact your ISP.
- Any firewall settings, parental controls, or port forwards that you have configured will be removed.
A router reset should be considered the last resort when you cannot log in to your router any other way. Before you reset your router you may want to try recovering your router password with our Router Password Finder.

Reset the Netcomm NB4
Usually there is a reset button located on the back or bottom of a router. Look for something that looks like this:
Reset buttons are usually tiny. Yours may look slightly different than this. Sometimes the button is under a pinhole, and you need a paper clip to push it.
Keep an eye on the lights on the front of your router while holding the reset button down for about 10 seconds. After a few seconds the lights should blink differently. When this happens, the reset is complete. It is harmless to hold the reset button too long.
Don't forget, this step will totally reset your Netcomm NB4 router back to factory settings.

Change Your Password
