Setup WiFi on the Netgear Virgin-Media-Super-Hub-2

Begin on the Home page of the Netgear Virgin-Media-Super-Hub-2 router. Click the red button in the lower right corner labeled Advanced Settings.

Now click the option in the center of the page labeled 2.4GHz Primary Wireless Network under the first section of Wireless.

  • Check the box labeled Enable 2.4GHz Primary Wireless Network.
  • Place your cursor in the box labeled SSID. This is the name you give your network so you can identify it. Check out our guide titled How to Change your Wireless Name for more help on this topic.
  • Now look at the Security Mode. We recommend that you choose the security choice of WPA2-PSK [AES]. For more information read our WEP vs. WPA Guide.
  • Below that is the Passphrase. This is the network password. It is important that you create a strong password of at least 14-20 characters. Check out our Choosing a Strong Password guide for more info.
  • Don't make any other changes on this page. Just click the Apply button.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
