In this article, you will learn how to reset your O2 TG585 back to factory settings. This is a much bigger deal than a router reboot. Turning a router off and back on again causes a reboot. However, when you reset a router you, return it back to its factory default settings.
Warning: Before you proceed, there are a few things you need to know. When you reset your router, the following will happen.
- The router's login and password are reset.
- All WiFi information such as network name, password, and authentication method are erased.
- Your ISP settings are reset, which means you will have to contact your ISP to get them back.
- Any firewall settings, parental controls, and port forwards that you have configured will be removed.
Since a router reset is such a drastic step, it should only be done as a last resort when you cannot recover your router's password using any other methods. Make sure that you have tried to recover your router password using our Router Password Finder first.

Reset the O2 TG585
Most of the time you can find a small reset button located on either the back or the bottom of a router. Most reset buttons look like this:
Yours may look slightly different, but they are usually tiny. You might find a pinhole on the back of the router that requires a paper clip to push the button hidden under it.
Watch the front panel lights while you hold the reset button down for at least 10 seconds. After a few seconds the lights should blink differently. When this happens, the reset is complete. You can hold the button down as long as you like, it will not hurt anything.
Don't forget, this step will totally reset your O2 TG585 router back to factory settings.

Login to the O2 TG585

Change Your Password
