In this article, you will learn how to reset your OTE Speedport W 724V back to factory settings. A router reset is very different than a router reboot. A reboot happens every time a router loses power. This is very different from a reset, which erases a router completely and returns it to factory default settings.
Warning: This is not a step to be taken lightly. A router reset will affect the following settings:
- The router's login credentials are reset.
- Your WiFi name and password are reset.
- Your ISP username and password will be reset, and you may have to contact your ISP.
- All parental controls, firewall settings, and port forwards will be removed.
A router reset should be considered the last resort when you cannot log in to your router any other way. You should be sure that you have tried to at least recover your router password using our Router Password Finder before resorting to a router reset.

Reset the OTE Speedport W 724V
Most of the time you can find a small reset button located on either the back or the bottom of a router. What you are looking for is something that looks like this:
Reset buttons are usually tiny. Yours may look slightly different than this. You might find a pinhole on the back of the router that requires a paper clip to push the button hidden under it.
Keep an eye on the lights on the front of your router while holding the reset button down for about 10 seconds. The lights on the front of the router should do something different when the reset happens. You can hold the button down as long as you like, it will not hurt anything.
Just don't forget that this will totally reset your OTE Speedport W 724V router.
