In this article, you will learn how to reset your Sagemcom Fast 5364 back to factory settings. A router reset is very different than a router reboot. A reboot happens every time a router loses power. This is different from a reset because a reset completely erases all settings from the router.

Warning: Proceed with caution; resetting your router can be a major headache. When you reset your router, the following will happen.

  • The router's login and password are reset to factory defaults.
  • All WiFi settings are reset, including network name and password.
  • Any ISP settings saved in your router will be removed. You may have to contact your ISP.
  • All parental controls, firewall settings, and port forwards will be removed.

A router reset should be considered the last resort when you cannot log in to your router any other way. Make sure that you have tried to recover your router password using our Router Password Finder first.

Most routers have a small button on either the back or the bottom. Look for something that looks like this:

Router Reset Button

Yours may look slightly different, but they are usually tiny. You may need a paper clip to push the reset button.

Keep an eye on the lights on the front of your router while holding the reset button down for about 10 seconds. After a few seconds the lights should blink differently. When this happens, the reset is complete. It is harmless to hold the reset button too long.

Remember, this will erase everything you have previously done to this Sagemcom Fast 5364 router.

Only take this last step of fully resetting your router after you have exhausted all other troubleshooting options, such as running our Router Password Finder software, which can recover a lost router password for you.
