Setup WiFi on the Securifi Almond

The Securifi Almond router is considered a wireless router because it offers WiFi connectivity. WiFi, or simply wireless, allows you to connect various devices to your router, such as wireless printers, smart televisions, and WiFi enabled smartphones.

WiFi Terms

Before we get started there is a little bit of background info that you should be familiar with.

Wireless Name

Your wireless network needs to have a name to uniquely identify it from other wireless networks. If you are not sure what this means we have a guide explaining what a wireless name is that you can read for more information.

An important part of securing your wireless network is choosing a strong password.

Picking a WiFi channel is not always a simple task. Be sure to read about WiFi channels before making the choice.

Login To The Securifi Almond

To get started configuring the Securifi Almond WiFi settings you need to login to your router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Find the WiFi Settings on the Securifi Almond

If you followed our login guide above then you should see this screen.

This guide begins on the Home page of the Securifi Almond router. To configure the WiFi settings, click the pink option of Wireless.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Securifi Almond

This takes you to the page you see here. The first setting that needs to be changed is titled Network Name(SSID). This is the network ID and should be unique. It doesn't really matter what you enter here but we suggest avoiding personal information. Check out our Wireless Names Guide for more on this subject.

Next, take a look at the Frequency (Ch). This is referring to the wireless channels. Make sure you are using channels 1,6, or 11. Click this link to learn more.

That's it, just click the blue Apply button before continuing.

Now click the Home button at the top of the page. Then select the green Security option.

This places you on the page you see here. In the space titled SSID Choice, choose the SSID you created on the previous page.

Below that is the Security Mode. For the best security available today, we suggest choosing WPA2PSK.

The last setting that needs your attention is titled Pass Phrase. This is the password you use to access your network. We recommend using a minimum of 14 to 20 characters with a mix of letters, numbers, and capital letters. Find out more ideas in our Password Guide.

That's it, just don't forget to click the blue Apply button before you exit.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
