Setup WiFi on the Siemens Gigaset SE587

Let's start this wireless setup guide on the Status page of the Siemens Gigaset-SE587. Click the tab at the top titled Wireless.

In the left sidebar, choose the first option of Basic Wireless Settings.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Siemens Gigaset SE587

We are now taken to a page like the one you see here. Find the space titled Wireless Network Name (SSID) and enter a new one of your choice. It really doesn't matter what you enter here but we advise you to avoid personal information. Click this link to learn more.

In the Wireless Channel line, click Disable.

Now choose the right channel for your network area. We recommend 1,6, or 11. Click this link for more information.

Select the Save Settings button.

In the left sidebar, click Wireless Security.

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
