Wireless Channel

You should now be on a page like the one you see here. First use the space titled SSID to create a unique name for your network ID. This name can be anything you like, but our advise is to avoid personal information. Click this link for the guide on this topic.

That's it, just click the Save/Apply option.

Back in the left sidebar click the option of Security.

Once on the page you see above, make sure to pick the SSID you just created from the drop-down list titled Select SSID.

Set the Network Authentication to WPA2-PSK for the strongest form of security available. To learn more, click this link.

The last setting that you should change is titled WPA Pre-Shared Key. This is the password you use to access your internet. Our recommendation is to use a minimum of 14 characters and don't forget to use some symbols, numbers, and capital letters. For more ideas, click this link.

Your network is much more secure now, go ahead and click the Save/Apply options before you exit.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
