This article covers how to reset the Sitecom X4 N300 router back to factory default settings. A router reset is very different than a router reboot. Rebooting a router is simply turning it off and back on again. This is very different from a reset, which erases a router completely and returns it to factory default settings.
Warning: Proceed with caution; resetting your router can be a major headache. The following settings in your router will be changed:
- The router's username and password are reset to factory defaults.
- All WiFi settings are reset, including network name and password.
- All ISP settings will reset to default, and you may have to contact your ISP.
- Any firewall settings, parental controls, or port forwards that you have configured will be removed.
Since a router reset is such a drastic step, it should only be done as a last resort when you cannot recover your router's password using any other methods. Before you reset your router, you may want to try recovering your router password with our Router Password Finder.

Recover Password in Sitecom X4 N300

Just keep in mind that a router reset should be done as the last resort when you are unable to login to your router.
Reset the Sitecom X4 N300
You can usually find a small reset button on either the back or the bottom of a router. A typical reset button looks like this:
Yours may look slightly different, but they are usually tiny. You may need a paper clip to push the reset button.
Watch the lights on the front of your router and hold the reset button down for about 10 seconds. After a few seconds the lights should blink differently. When this happens, the reset is complete. You cannot hold the button too long, and it will not hurt the router to hold the reset button down for longer than 10 seconds.
Just don't forget that this will totally reset your Sitecom X4 N300 router.

Login to the Sitecom X4 N300

Change Your Password

Tip: Write your new password down on a post-it note and stick it to the bottom of your router.
