Setup WiFi on the Sitecom X5_N600

The Sitecom X5_N600 router is considered a wireless router because it offers WiFi connectivity. WiFi, or simply wireless, allows you to connect various devices to your router, such as wireless printers, smart televisions, and WiFi enabled smartphones.

Use a VPN Instead

Find the WiFi Settings on the Sitecom X5_N600

This wireless setup guide begins on the Status page of the Sitecom X5_N600 router. Start out by selecting the 2.4G WiFi option at the top of the page, and then the Wirless Settings tab below that.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Sitecom X5_N600

  • Access Point - make sure this is set to Enable.
  • Channel - open the drop down menu and select either 1, 6, or 11. Why is is this important? See our guide.
  • SSID - in this box you'll enter your network name. You can enter anything here but we recommend avoiding any personal information. Why? Check out our guide.

Make sure to Save your settings before leaving this page.

Now click the tab labeled Security Settings.

You should now be on the page you see above.

  • Wireless SSID - open the drop down list and select the SSID you just created.
  • Authentication Type - set this to WPA2 only.
  • WPA Mode - make sure this is set to Personal.

  • Pre-Shared Key - this will be your password. You can enter whatever you like, but we recommend avoiding personal information or anything easily guessed. For more tips on creating a strong password, check out our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

Make sure to click Save when you're happy with these settings.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
