This guide shows you how to reset your Symphony SY602 router. Resetting a router is different than rebooting a router. Turning a router off and back on again causes a reboot. This is different from a reset because a reset completely erases all settings from the router.
Warning: Proceed with caution; resetting your router can be a major headache. When you reset your router, the following will happen.
- The router's login and password are reset.
- All WiFi login information and network names are reset.
- Any ISP settings saved in your router will be removed. You may have to contact your ISP.
- Any firewall settings, parental controls, and port forwards that you have configured will be removed.
A router reset should be considered the last resort when you cannot log in to your router any other way. You should be sure that you have tried to at least recover your router password using our Router Password Finder before resorting to a router reset.

Do not do a full router reset until after you have tried every other option to log in to your router.
Reset the Symphony SY602
You can usually find a small reset button on either the back or the bottom of a router. Most reset buttons look like this:
Even though yours may look slightly different, you need to look for a tiny button. Sometimes the button is under a pinhole, and you need a paper clip to push it.
Hold the reset button down for about 10 seconds while watching the lights on the front of your router. After a few seconds the lights should blink differently. When this happens, the reset is complete. Keep holding the button as long as you want, it will not hurt anything to hold it down too long.
Don't forget, this step will totally reset your Symphony SY602 router back to factory settings.
Only do this once you have exhausted all other troubleshooting options, such as running our Router Password Finder software, which can recover a lost router password for you.
Login to the Symphony SY602
Once the reset is complete, you need to login to your router using the default IP address, username, and password. You can find all of the information that you need in our SY602 Login Guide.
Change Your Password
After logging in, you should really change your router's password for added security. Leaving a router password set to default is a very serious security risk. Our Choosing a Strong Password guide can help you pick a strong password for your router.
Tip: After creating this new password, we highly recommend writing this down on a post-it note and attaching it to the bottom of your router for future reference.
