This guide shows you how to reset your Telewell TW-EA510 router to factory default settings. This is not the same thing as rebooting a router. Turning a router off and back on again causes a reboot. Resetting a router erases all settings from it and returns it to factory defaults.

Warning: This is not a step to be taken lightly. The following settings will be changed in your router:

  • The router's login credentials are reset.
  • All WiFi information such as network name, password, and authentication method are erased.
  • All ISP settings will reset to default, and you may have to contact your ISP.
  • Any parental controls, firewall settings, or port forwards will be removed.

A router reset is the last step you should take in recovering your router's password. You should be sure that you have tried to at least recover your router password using our Router Password Finder before resorting to a router reset.

Only after you have tried to recover your missing router username and password should you perform a full router reset.

Reset the Telewell TW-EA510

On most routers you can find a small button on the back or the bottom labeled reset. Look for something that looks like this:

Router Reset Button

Reset buttons are usually tiny. Yours may look slightly different than this. You may need a paper clip to push the reset button.

Hold the reset button down for 10 seconds and watch the lights. The lights on the front of the router should do something different when the reset happens. Do not worry about holding the button down too long; this is harmless.

Remember, this will totally reset your Telewell TW-EA510 router.

Be sure to only reset your router if you have tried everything else, such as running our Router Password Finder software, which can find your lost or forgotten router password for you.
