A factory reset puts your Tenda router back to its default settings.

Before You Reset

A reset erases your WiFi name and password, Internet settings (PPPoE username and password) and port forwards. Write them down first.

Method 1: The Reset Button

  1. With the router on, press and hold the RST (or RST/WPS) button for about 8 to 10 seconds, until the lights flash.
  2. Let go and wait about a minute.

On many Tenda routers the reset button is also the WPS button. A short press starts WPS instead of resetting, so hold it for the full time.

Method 2: Reset From the Web Interface

Log in, go to System Settings > Reset (on older models, Advanced > Tools > Restore to Factory Default), and confirm.

After the Reset

Connect to the default WiFi on the label and go to http://tendawifi.com. The setup wizard opens: set your Internet connection, WiFi and a login password. See the Tenda login guide.
