In this article, you will learn how to reset your TP-Link Archer AX1800 v1.20 back to factory settings. This is not the same thing as rebooting a router. Every time your router loses power it reboots. This is different from a reset because a reset completely erases all settings from the router.
Warning: Before you continue, there are a few things you need to know. The following settings in your router will be changed:
- The router's login and password are reset to factory defaults.
- Your WiFi login, password, and network name are reset.
- Your ISP settings are reset, which means you will have to contact your ISP to get them back.
- Any firewall settings, parental controls, or port forwards that you have configured will be removed.

A router reset should be the last thing you try if you are unable to login.
Reset the TP-Link Archer AX1800 v1.20
There is usually a small reset button located on either the back or the bottom of a router. A typical reset button looks like this:
Even though yours may look slightly different, you need to look for a tiny button. Sometimes the button is under a pinhole, and you need a paper clip to push it.
Hold the reset button down for 10 seconds and watch the lights. After a few seconds the lights should blink differently. When this happens, the reset is complete. Do not be concerned about holding the reset button down too long. It will not hurt anything.
Keep in mind that this will completely reset your TP-Link Archer AX1800 v1.20 router.
